Use resources to configure turrets by pausing the game. The next turret you build will have the new configuration.

Build a guard turret by double clicking/tapping on any open space.

Resources are sometimes dropped by destroyed enemies. The probability of resources being dropped can be improved by configuring turrets

Collect a resource by clicking/tapping on it.

Destroy a guard turret by clicking/tapping on it once. This yields one resource.
